Applying for a place at Primley Wood Primary outside the initial application for a Reception place:

If for example you move to Leeds from another city or county (or even another country), and we are outside the dates for applying for initial Reception places, or if your child is older, you can contact us directly, and we will help you to transfer your child to our school. It’s a relatively easy process and we will give you as much help as we can.

Call us to book a tour.

Call us on 0113 887 3680 or email info@primleywood.co.uk to book a visit and tour of the school.

Do we have Waiting Lists?

We do currently have Waiting Lists for a number of our classes.

Please give us a call on 0113 887 3680 to check availability.

Appeals process:

In the unlikely event that we are not able to offer you a place in either Reception or in another year group, you always have the right to appeal the decision.

My child only speaks a little (or no) English:

We’re very comfortable dealing with new children for whom English is not a first language, as well as those who cannot speak any English. The children quickly make friends here and that really helps them to initially settle in whilst the teachers and teaching assistants help them to learn in a new language. We can even make signs and worksheets in other languages whilst your child learns.

Not ready to start?

If you feel that your child is not ready to start school, please contact us, and we will work with you to assess the situation, advise on options and put together a plan.

Moving from another school

If your child is moving from another school, we are more than happy for them to come for a tour, meet the children in their class, and to come and spend some time with us. We will try to do everything we can to help make the move feel as easy and comfortable as possible.

School transport

We run a dedicated minibus in the Leeds and Bradford areas. There are usually places available. The cost of transport depends on how far your house is from our school.

Speak to the School Office for more information.
